Pros: Provides beauty with class information for any and all budgets. Cons: Not for the average male - Unless gift shopping!
"This is the one that offers something for everylass and every class. Sure there are lots of stars, face it they lead the pack and most of them are fascinating people. The photogaphy in this one is much more real with lots of "candid" shots that don't make you squint to find the subject.
LOVE the samples included. I've never been able to spend $50+ each to try on perfume and seldom get to the department stores. ALLURE is the answer. My last issue had over 8 test strips and though I can't tell which in this review, one was perfect for me. Other samples include lipgloss, hair creams, moisture products, and more.
One ALLURE FEATURE that is interesting and usefull contains tearout hints and tricks of style. They include "cheat sheets" for clever hints and shortcuts for makeup, skin care, tools (including brushes), clothing (from office to The Ritz), plus accessorizing with ideas that work. My collection is about an inch thick and organized by ALLURE's titles, "Beauty 101" "Style 101.""

Pros: Covers Beauty Industry very well Cons: Too Celebrity-oriented, Too Plastic Surgery oriented
"I've subscribed to Allure since its inception. It has changed dramatically over the years. It is now very celebrity topic driven and the quality of the writing and length of the articles have gone downhill. It does a good job of interviewing beauty industry experts and sometimes the products are affordable to the average woman. More likely than not, they want you to buy a $25 mascara and to listen to lots of nonsense about plastic surgery and facial injection "improvements". It has a modest amount about fashion. A good instructional monthly insert about makeup, skin care, etc. and a yearly "best of" issue. It also features a vapid celebrity on the cover with a vapid celebrity interview. It used to be a much better, more relevant magazine for woman of all ages who were interested in makeup, skincare, haircare and cosmetics without the push for "Britney" articles and surgery."

Pros: Great magazine, great price! Cons: None!
"I've been a subscriber of Allure for years! One of the best beauty magazines out there, because the articles are written for women with intelligence. Unlike Glamour and Cosmo, Allure presents information instead of telling you what to think. Their beauty articles are the best - I'm sure you've heard of the 100 best Allure beauty buys - I've seen stickers on products advertising they were named as an Allure Best Buy! You won't be disappointed with Allure!"

Pros: in-depth articles, heatlth news, best and worst in major cities Cons: usually has lots of ads, very Fashion Week-y
"Allure is one of the highlights of my magazine subscriptions. Although there are several advertisements per issue, the articles and essays are in-depth, thought-provoking, and a welcome relief from the "who's dating who in Hollywood" magazines on the stands. Each issue contains health and beauty news, as well as best and worst of spas, hairstylists, etc. in many major cities. Reading Allure is like visiting a little spa or oasis in a hectic world."

too many ads!,

"I got a subscription to this and then canceled it & got a refund. It has too many ads and too much junk. Nothing worth reading and no useful information. Don't waste your money. Get Glamour instead."
