Pros: Informative information for people who have birds.
Cons: Does not present enough information about the serious problems regarding keeping birds as pets.

"Every year, millions of pet parrots end up homeless, abused, and are neglected. The numbers are escalating every year, yet people continue to breed. Many people are poorly informed about the pitfalls and the time parrots require, before they purchase their first bird. Once in their home, they become disenchanted with their bird for a myriad of reasons and the bird ends up homeless and/or neglected. These same people often blame the bird, get rid of the bird, and then buy another bird thinking it was a problem with the bird. And the cycle continues. Bird Talk does not present a balanced perspective about these problems, rather they mostly promote birds and breeding. It's a shame because if they did, many people might think twice before buying a bird, and many birds would be spared the suffering."

Pros: Great reviews and useful articles
Cons: Not enough about political action, still need to go to club meetings for local information.

"Not only are the articles geared toward the active hobbyist. Their articles for the beginner hobbyist to learn with. I love that the magazine editors are taking an interest about how local govt is reacting to feathered hobbyist and my little dragons.
I like how the youthful spirit of the staff comes out in the articles and that the writing is understandable by the whole family. This is a good all around magazine. Annually it covers all of the species so the new hobbyist can make an informed purchase or rescue."
