Pros: Amazing group of contributors Cons: Recipes can be intimidating for beginners
"My father started me on my subscription almost 15 years ago. He looked forward to me selecting a new recipe out of each issue to prepare for him. He died of cancer 10 years ago, but I think of him every time I see the magazine. There have been some amazing recipes over the years, and others I didn't care to try. I am old-fashioned, and I don't want to look up recipes on-line. I like them in the magazines, along with the great articles and humerous anecdotes. Helpful, relevant advertisement and beautiful photography round it out. I have issues going back to the early 90's with my favorites dog-earred and well-loved. The price is attractive enough to give it a try. A worthy investment, and potential tradition in the making."

"I have been a subscriber to Bon Appetite for 8 years now. Though most of the recipes can be found on the website, the magazine is still invaluable. I look forward to the articles as well as the seasonally appropriate menus. THis magazine can be used by the beginning cook as well as the seasoned veteran. Most of the recipes are quite easy to make, but a few may be too daunting for some."

Pros: Gone Downhill Cons: Quick Read
"I've subscribed for many years and will cancel this year. So disappointed in the quantity and quality of recipes. Older recipes are great and available on Epicurious but past few issues make me want to end this relationship."
