Pros: Good and Clear
Cons: On your maps you show kilometers only.

"I am a subscriber to The Economist and I enjoy reading your magazine. The only problem is when I look at your maps that go with that story, the distance is in kilometers and not miles. Here in the USA most of us don't know kilometers. And you should show miles as well as kilmeters. Other media shows both. I like to see the distance from one point to the other when reading that story."

Pros: wonderful magazine for the big picture
Cons: delivery unequal

"I've been gettting this magazine for a year and I love it. My only gripe is that they are often delivered neary two at a time with a two week wait in between. Other than that its incredibly informative, pertinent, objective etc."

Pros: Truly global coverage, well written, ads are neatly segregated in a clean layout
Cons: Every issue has an end.

"Very well written, with poignant political and economic insight. There is (inevitably) a definite point of view, but The Economist is always honest and clear about its biases. A very stimulating read. While there are a fair number of ads, they aren't smattered in amongst the good stuff. The layout is very tasteful and not distracting. It feels like there are fewer ads than there are, and there is a LOT of content in each issue."

Pros: Impartial viewpoint, covers the world well, not too liberal or conservative, not sensationalized
Cons: none

"Extremely well written and does not have an agenda or slant to it. I trust it more than I trust Newsweek or Time to deliver impartial news about America and the world. Highly recommended.."

Cons: Too many good stories, spend all my time reading this magazine!

"I can't buy this magazine anymore, it seriously was taking up most my days, I could not quit reading it. Just as I read an entire magazine, another would come in. Sorry, but this one was too good for me to keep in the house."

Pros: Beautifully written, ruthlessly analysed
Cons: Needs discipline and concentration to read

"After reading many dozens of competitors in the world events analysis field The Economist simply stands out head and shoulders above them all. It should be obligatory reading for all over 15s in all universities and most schools. The smell of bias is delighfully absent, and it's funny."

Pros: Have yet to read an Economist article about Paris Hilton.

"This is the only magazine I subscribe to, and one of my major sources of news and information.

I enjoy reading thoughtful articles about a wide variety of subject matter, and I prefer my news on the intellectual side. Having grown tired of the watered down info bits in magazines like Time and Newsweek, the Economist is a joy to read.

If you like to be well informed about a variety of things that have to do with world affairs, technology, science, finance and the arts, the Economist is worth every penny."

Review 13 for The Economist

The Economist, June 23, 2006
By Michael from Washington DC

"I have been a subscriber to the Economist for several years and have found it to offer unparelled coverage of world events. The articles are timely, insightful and have prompted many a stimulating conversation. No other magazine covers events on every inhabited continent. In a nation where our media dumbs down progressively more each year, it is refreshing to have access to intellectually stimulating coverage. The Economist is well worth the premium they charge."
