"Overall, i like this magazine. It does a good job of keeping me up to date on the major events going on in the country and abroad. The articles are high quality and well written.
However, Newsweek focuses on politics a little too much for my liking. Also, many times i don't agree with the choice of the cover story. Even though politics can be important and sensational, there are other things going on in the country which deserve much more attention and need to be put in the public spotlight. So, i usually flip through the main articles to the other stuff, which is a lot more curious to me."

Newsweek, July 29, 2007
By DanL

"I subscribed first several years ago because it was such a cheap deal. When my sub expired I did not renew. But then another deal came along and I signed up again. This has continued for several years and I have to admit, I usually read every issue cover to cover. And for 20 bucks a year, what the heck; if nothing else keep it on your coffee table for company that comes over (Note to doctors and dentists: a great addition to your waiting rooms' subscriptions to Highlights).

My only beef: like most of mainstream media Newsweek's journalism has become soft and flabby. They don't ask the hard questions or engage in the investigative reporting that is so necessary to keep our national elected officials' feet to the fire. The Media is called the Fourth Estate for a reason; they have an unspoken constitutional duty to frame political issues and, when appropriate, engage in advocacy.

For busy people, though, a great weekly synopsis of the week's news."

The Best News Magazine, March 21, 2007
By Karen in Kentucky from Paducah, KY

"I think Newsweek is the best news magazine because its articles are concise and interesting. It always has a lot of cool pictures. I like the column at the beginning (I think it's called "My Turn") that they have; it always gives me an interesting perspective on life. Overall, the magazine is a good way to keep up on things."
