Pros: Serious philosophy Cons: None
"If you really want a magazine that makes you think, this is it. If you really want a magazine that is timeless and you'll want to keep each issue and read over again, this is the one. If you are concerned about our American culture and what we personally can do to improve our lives and that of those around us, buy this magazine. It's the best voice out there to simplify, live in the moment and have concern for our earth and fellow beings. You won't be disappointed unless you really like fluff."

Pros: Very well designed; professional quality Cons: "Generic Buddhist" appeal
"While I've always enjoyed reading this magazine I don't think I've ever been motivated to subscribe. It's definitely professionally designed - and designed for ALL schools and traditions. Being more interested in Mahayana school myself, I prefer a publication with a narrower focus. I certainly wouldn't discourage anyone from reading or subscribing to this magazine. IF you're interested in a publication that focuses on Tibetan Buddhism, I'd recommend "MANDALA" (which unfortunately is not offered through this website.) Mandala isn't as 'slick' - paper isn't as glossy, maybe not quite as many articles 'in color', and not quite as much advertising, but many meaningful articles. Fortunately, from my perspective, even the ads in these types of magazines can be interesting reading, because many are relevant to the subject (e.g. books reviewed, supplies, etc.)"
