Pros: Great stories and wonderful photos Cons: None
"I am a stay at home mom who home-schools 2 of my children. My son has a learning disability and my daughter is gifted. Even though they have different interests and learning styles they both love this magazine. They look forward to receiving it in the mail and sit down with it together. My daughter will read the stories to my son and they will discuss what they have learned. They love learning about all of the different animals presented in each issue. The stories are short enough to keep my son's attention and the amazing photography keeps him focused and asking questions. I highly recommend this magazine to any parent of children from elementary to middle school."

Ranger Rick,
July 29, 2006
By Kimettefrom Hartsville SC
"I teach high school science and although Ranger Rick is written for younger students, my kids also love it. The articles have lots of pictures for the visually-oriented reader and are short and simple enough for the reluctant reader. Another advantage to the short articles in Ranger Rick is that it makes it easy to complete them quickly when you've only got a few minutes to spare. It doesn't hurt that the subject matter is informative and entertaining. All in all, I highly recommend this magazine to anyone around kids from upper elementary to high school."

Ranger Rick,
February 21, 2006
By Evefrom Salem OR
"Ranger Rick was my own first magazine introduction to the National Wildlife Federation some 30 years ago; it started me off on a lifetime of caring about the environment, environmental stewardship, and of course all of the Earth's wonderful creatures. With incredible close-up photographs, insightful and appropriately written articles for the beginning and young reader's level, and a rather economical price for the amount of use they get out of it, I would recommend this as one of the best gifts you could give to the child aged 6-14. Only drawback is they love them to death re-reading them; you might consider a 3-ring binder for them."
