Pros: Beautiful photography, trendy fashions, current products Cons: Ads, reviews, and articles are for expensive items, stories and "advice" not realistic
"I was really looking forward to my subscription to "Cookie"...To me the name implies I would be getting a hip, colorful, magazine full of all the good things that being a parent involve...making cookies, wearing macaroni necklaces, fingerpainting, "oohing" and "aahing" over irresistably cute onesies, and reading about tips for surviving those sleepless nights...but not in this mag! While the photos are beautiful, the articles border on sneaky and snooty (women hiding the receipts for their secret splurges from their husbands), the products featured are entirely too expensive, and the kids clothing unlike anything I have ever seen on any kid other than Suri Cruise! While some articles make an attempt at normality, like how to feed a picky eater, you get the feeling that the only one reading the article would be the kid's nanny! This is an incredibly materialistic magazine! I know that some people have the kind of money to spend the way this magazine suggests...$200 for a pair on infant stretchy pants and $185 for a toddler vest...but not me or anyone I know. This magazine doesn't offer anything that fits my lifestyle... and it definitely should not be entitled "Cookie"."

Cons: Relevance
"Unless you are a very wealthy stay at home mom,you will find this magazine irrelavant to your life. It's full of products and clothes most of us could never hope to afford. An "every day pair if slacks" to me does not cost upwards of $400.00!!!! I've read 4 issues so far and not one had any articles that I found informative or the least bit useful -or interesting! . I'm cancelling my subscription."

Pros: It's pretty....the graphics are good Cons: Even the articles are nothing but advertisements
"I was excited to receive my first Cookie magazine only to be very disappointed. I spent one hour "reading" it, in hopes to find something good or useful, and felt utterly disappointed. That one hour was definitely wasted.
Of course it is littered with ads, but even the featured articles are nothing but sales pitches. Examples:
The sections on how to easily and quickly get dressed up to step outside (not on a date - just a normal day) have nothing but pictures of dresses and purses and their prices. All dresses are $100 or more and the purses are $400 or more. Who is this supposed to appeal to? Who wastes that much money on clothes and purses? I know some people do, but most people don't.
Further, the section of 'Mother's Day Gift Ideas' again was nothing but products to BUY for mom, such as make-up and perfumes, and all of it was over-the-top when it came to pricing.
Finally, one article on ‘excessive spending’ – very fitting for a magazine that tries to convince women to spend, spend, spend – ended with a woman buying a $5,000 coat and tricking her husband into being ok with it.
Basically, the magazine is focused on being nothing but shopping ideas for very affluent women, who happen to have a child or two. The children are really just an afterthought in this magazine and fashion and shopping are the primary focuses."

Pros: Excellent Advise, Great Print, Quite Unique! Cons: None
"This magazine is fantastic. I have thoroughly enjoyed every issue and was happily surprised to find a Gymboree Savings Coupon (20% Off) that saved me over $80!!! Unbelievable considering I paid under $30 for the subscription and have learned so much from every single issue. I would highly recommend this magazine to other moms."

Pros: Fashion tips Cons: Way too pricey
"Bought it on a whim and regret it--not for a normal middle-class Mom. Everything displayed way out of my price range--$900 trench coat? Come On! Also, didn't really seem to have any good parenting tips, etc. Also, recipes weren't family friendly either, I don't usually have any miso paste laying around."

Pros: Great Photo Spreads Cons: For high end gear and high prices only
"I did not like this magazine. I bought a subscription on a whim and kicked myself every month. It just wasn't written for the average mom. Maybe it is for wealthy moms who have extra money to spend. It did have good advice about getting your love life back. Just wasn't for a regular mom."

Pros: colorful ads Cons: nothing appeals to my tastes
"When I got an ad in the mail for this magazine I was very excited about it. I thought finally a magazine that is for the regular woman/mom. I was totally wrong. It is full of high priced clothes, baby items, things I would never buy. I live in California, not somewhere remote and I'd never spend $800 on a stroller. I'm so dissapointed in this magazine I barely read it when it comes, then I immediately toss it in the trash. If you live in N.Y., or Beverly Hills, you may like it."

Pros: Top notch in kids and Mommy fashion Cons: More for the upper class family
"I knew this wasn't the magazine for me when I received an issue with "Kid Friendly Castles" as an article. There were some interesting reads but everything they advertised was WAY too expensive for my family's income. With articles ranging from taking your kids on European vacations to NY fashion week, it was a little too upscale for me. If that's your lifestyle, though, you may like it."

"I really love this magazine. It's always a happy day when I find it in my mailbox. Great pictures full of color, wonderful ideas for moms of all types. Unique topics fill the articles, which I really like, not just the same old parenting stuff found in other mags."

Very tasteful,
May 14, 2007

"I found this magazine very complete for a modern mom. It has articles that appeal to a mother that take care of his children but also take cares of herself. It also gives you a range of products that are inexpensive but also high end products. It is up to the person to select what appeal to her."

higher income parenting,
April 25, 2007
By dm
"This magazine had a couple of cute articles, but I found it to be a little too glitzy for my taste. Much of the spreads were advertisements for clothes and such that are way out of the reaches of our income. I wouldn't say the magazine is awful, but I've definitely read better ones that are geared to the family minded woman."
